“Accelerator pedal positions sensor fails resulting in immediate speed reduction in traffic. While driving on a highway this happened with speed going from 55 to 15 almost as if putting on brakes. Dealer replaced apps and it failed again in less than 18 months. No accident occurred but surely could have if other drivers were following closer.”

The contact depressed the brake pedal harshly and the engine revved. The contact turned off the engine and had to restart the vehicle a few extra times in order to drive home safely. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,800.”
