“Turbo pipe blew off going uphill towing a horse in trailer, lost most of my power, speed dropped to 40 MPH with trucks bearing down. Put clamp back on did it again 50 miles later. Dealership told me rust formed inside turbo if I did not drive it hard or correctly. I did'nt think I bought a truck with instructions how to rive it !”
NHTSA complaint #10192980, filed 2007-06, 40,300 miles“2005 Ford f350 6.0 diesel - strong exhaust type odor coming through the vents when either the air, heat, or defrost is on and the truck isn't moving. I read hundreds of internet posts regarding this problem and so far have yet to see anyone get the problem resolved, including myself. I'm fearful that this odor is a sever safety hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #10113865, filed 2005-03, 500 miles“2005 Ford diesel pickup bucks and jerks while under light load, I.e. Maintaining speed on an incline. (mountain pass). Dealership and Ford is aware of problem for over a year. While driving on winter (icy) roads, truck began bucking and broke traction sending truck out of control. Luckily I was able to drive out of it without contacting the vehicle passing me or roadside obstructions.”
NHTSA complaint #10146751, filed 2006-01, 14,000 miles“My 2005 f350 6.0 diesel over heated, was told by Ford dealer that the EGR valve & EGR cooler went out, they replaced under warranty. Only have 56,963 miles on truck. Was also told that Ford has a lot of problems with this. Why don't they let us know about this or have a recall. I was on a mountain road and it could have caused an accident when I loss power. I've also had the NHTSA action # ea08007 happen to my truck 2 times now.”
NHTSA complaint #10234918, filed 2008-07, 56,963 miles“I have had my 2005 f-350 diesel towed to the dealer three times now for stalling and not starting back up. Each instance they show loss of oil pressure and blame me for not changing the oil every 3000 miles (recommended by Ford every 5000 - 7000 miles) and getting bad gas. They replaced 4 cylinders the first time, 2 cylinders plus a fuel cup the second and they are now working on the third.”
