NHTSA complaint #10443216, filed 2012-01, 2,500 miles

“My truck starting losing power little by little over a short period of time. The check engine light came on & I took it to the Ford dealership.they advised me that the EGR system was failing & the cost is $2500.00. They also told me that Ford knew about the problem & should have recalled this problem..now I can't drive my truck without worrying about engine failure (until it's fixed)..interstate travel is just about non=existent for now..I will not let my wife drive it anymore for now...this truck only has 75,000 miles on it & for now is not safe to drive anywhere but short distances...”

NHTSA complaint #10430267, filed 2011-10, 74,000 miles

“My 2006 Ford crew cab powerstroke turbo diesel has an engine oil cooler and EGR/EGR cooler problems that keeps the truck from full power up hills and with loads. Extremely dangerous pulling trailer up grade's, it loses power, blows white smoke and becomes unstable. The temp. Between the oil cooler and the EGR cooler shuts down the trucks computer, leaving the truck inoperable. Costs to repair $6793. Why has there been no recall on this issue I'm starting to see there are many other complains on this engine design are you waiting for someone to be killed before you do something?”

NHTSA complaint #10373623, filed 2010-12, 125,678 miles

“Vehicle would not start,A/C , performance, engine light sluggish take off, performance, white smoke and EGR leaking diesel fuel on top of motor, this truck has had two rebuilt engines upon the first 50,000miles.engine covered in oil, fuel injector main problem started with overheating.”

NHTSA complaint #10443255, filed 2012-01, 23,913 miles

“Truck runs rough, check engine light come on, fuel sensor error. There seems to be quite a few similar complaints. Dealers stated fuel tanks are corroding. Why has there not been a recall? This is a manufacturing problem. Ford should deal with it or made to.”
