“The lugnuts swell and the lug hut wrench with the car will not remove the lug nuts. My wife got a flat tire, she was alone on the side of the road and could not get the tire off because the wrench would not fit. The road side service could not get it off also. We had to get the car to a service center and they had to hammer a larger socket on it to back the nuts off. They say this is a common problem. Really? A common problem that lug nuts fail??? This is not right. I called the Ford dealership and they said sorry but there is nothing we can do. …”
NHTSA complaint #11372456, filed 2020-10, 80,000 miles“Tps light stays on. Air lose in front driver tire and back driver side tire. I have to put air in both tires every day. About 15 lbs of air in the front driver tire and about 8 lbs of air in the back driver side tire”
NHTSA complaint #11302253, filed 2020-01, 23 miles“The lug studs have swollen making it impossible to change a tire. I was told both by the tow truck driver who showed up to change the tire, and the tire shop where I took the car, that this is a known issue with this make/model and that you have to take it to a Ford dealership to be addressed.”
NHTSA complaint #11464908, filed 2022-05“My airbag light keeps coming on. Also tire low light is coming on I also hear a banging noise when I use the heat or air., this happens whether driving or parked.”
NHTSA complaint #11174678, filed 2019-02“Two years ago, a Ford Service person said 2 lug nuts needed to be replaced in order to rotate the tires. Later, I learned that this was a safety hazard because I would not have been able to change a flat tire. This time, I was told at the Ford dealer that all 16 needed to be replaced in order to rotate the tires. Also, I had to pay $110. to have this fixed. Once again, I was in danger of having a flat tire and being unable to remove the tire because of faulty lug nuts. This is a serious safety issue and should be recalled by Ford. I should also be reimbursed by Ford for this expense. …”
