“Driving down the highway our children rolled down the back power windows and they would not go back up - swerved into other lane trying to contain the situation because of the noise from the traffic has to exit the highway immediately to note that the windows would no longer go up - had to manually push them up to keep them up - although while driving they will go back down - which cause a jump in reflexes. To temporarily fix the problem we have applied duct tape. …”
NHTSA complaint #10379598, filed 2011-01, 65,000 miles“2001 Ford Focus. Key won't turn in ignition, won't budge. I tried moving the steering wheel, tried using the other key, tried pressing the key in harder- nothing. Ignition has given me problems before: it would take two or three tries before it would turn, but it's never refused to move like this. Also, there were times when it didn't want to give the key back; I would have to jiggle and turn it, but it always came out after a few seconds of struggling.”
NHTSA complaint #10300438, filed 2010-01, 33,000 miles“Bought vehicle 2nd hand, cash, everything worked fine. Now, I have no brake lights, & my door locks no longer work on the remote, or the all lock/unlock button, & now my trunk latch is not working correctly. The door locks are self locking (meaning that they lock at any given time whenever they please.) the brake switch has been replaced, all bulbs have been checked & replaced, fuses keep getting blown. Cannot locate fuse for the door locks. Ford has a campaign for the year 2000 for a door latch issue, campaign #05s27 NHTSA id# 05v-030. …”
NHTSA complaint #10579548, filed 2014-04, 130,000 miles“Complaint received via e-mail. Rear passenger latch on my wife's car broke after opening the door, only 15 times. I am good with my cars, and some elbow grease corrected the problem. However the front and rear driver's side latch broke. The problem seemed to be that the spring that dropped the tumbler down onto the latch pin fixed to the cars body did not engage when the door was shut as it normally should.”
NHTSA complaint #10109408, filed 2005-02, 22,000 miles“After completing my shopping, I returned to my car. Opened my rear left door to put down my bags. Come to close the door, but it would not shut and after trying for 40 minutes, the door finally latched shut. Tried to remedy the problem at home...but was faced with the same problem, this time it took even longer to shut. Since the summer, I have not opened the door. Came online to check for a recall/defect.”
