Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2002: “On a recent trip my motorhome experienced a brake issue and felt like one or both front calipers were sticking/dragging (after 20-30 minutes of driving), heating the fluid and boiling it back resulting in loss of pedal pressure. After cooling brakes operate normal. Upon research it appears there is an exact recall for this know issue on the damon challenger chevy workhorse chassis. I have the damon challenger Ford chassis. …”

2000: “A safety recall was sent to me back in sept. 2007 concerning a dangerous cruise control on my Ford Motor Home. At this time no parts are available to correct this dangerous condition. We have disconnected the control but cannot understand why Ford is not reacting positively to this problem! 6 months wait is just not acceptable if fire and life are in danger!”

NHTSA complaint #10215225, filed 2008-01, 70,000 miles

1997: “We received a recall notice on our 1997 Ford rv for a wiring harness in sept. 2007. We called the authorized dealer immediately and was told the parts were on back order. We have still not received repairs. Five (5) months is ample time to correct this problem. In the meantime we are unable to use the cruise on an rv.”
