Example complaints

Tires: “On two separate occasions I had 2 different firestone tires lostthe whole tread to cause a flat. The first time in june 2005 was a steer passenger and the second time in august 2005 was a inside dual passenger tire.”

NHTSA complaint #10133218, filed 2005-08, 25,300 miles

Vehicle speed control: “A safety recall was sent to me back in sept. 2007 concerning a dangerous cruise control on my Ford Motor Home. At this time no parts are available to correct this dangerous condition. We have disconnected the control but cannot understand why Ford is not reacting positively to this problem! 6 months wait is just not acceptable if fire and life are in danger!”

NHTSA complaint #10215225, filed 2008-01, 70,000 miles

Steering: “Consumer went to have recalled #00s48 work performed, however consumer was refused any type of paper work to show exactly what was done to vehicle, therefore consumer is not sure if anything was done at all, the auto shop informed consumer that paper work is not given out when work is performed under warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #562318, filed 2001-07

Engine cooling: “Heavy rain, driving on highway at time, engine breather tube and filter in front of radiator sucked up water in large amounts causing the filter element to collaspe and restrict air intake to the engine, causing a loss of power and engine RPM. Steering control and brakes became extremely difficult to operate. I believe this will happen again if caught on the road during any rain storm. A call to our local Ford dealer caused them to search for a recall on this problem,to other georgetown motor homes on Ford chassis and found none. …”
