“The contact owns a 2003 Ford Motor Home. The cruise control was disconnected in september of 2007, under recall number 05s28. The vehicle is used to travel frequently and is in need of the cruise control. The contact felt that the repair has surpassed a reasonable amount of time. The dealer is currently stating that the part will not be available until march of 2008. Updated 01/17/08. Updated”
NHTSA complaint #10212436, filed 2007-12, 27,000 miles“Received recall notice 05s28 on 9-7-07. Have called local Ford dealer monthly since sept 2007 to schedule repair but am informed that repair part is unavailable from Ford and to check again in a month. Last called dealer on 1-21-08 and was told that part still unavailable and would probably be available in march/april 2008 time frame. Four months is unacceptable to have a fire hazard present in my motorhome (or to disable vehicle's cruise control to avoid fire hazard).”

The contact received a recall notice in september of 2007 for the vehicle speed cruise control. She notified the dealer and they provided her with a list of places that would repair her vehicle. She called to set up an appointment and was informed that the parts would remain unavailable until october. She called again in october and was informed that the parts would be unavailable until january of 2008. The speed control switch has not been deactivated. There had been no failure to date. The current mileage was 20,617. …”
