“Fuel filler hose assembly has failed twice on 1994 Ford Ranger pickup. First hose assembly failed at 73,000 miles on may 5, 2001 causing large amounts of fuel to spill when filling the tank and when driving. The replacement hose assembly failed again after 55,000 miles on it on march 3, 2006. This failure was at the exact same place on the hose and also caused large amounts of fuel to spill when filling tank and when driving. First hose was replaced by a Ford dealership at a cost to me of $650 and the 2nd hose replaced by an independent shop at a cost of $480. …”

“The owners manual state that you may transfer to 4x4 up to 55 miles an hour before damage occurs, I was traveling at 30 miles per hour and the front drvier hub made a cluncking sound. I asked every Ford dealer about my situation and they said that that it's ridiculous to engage 4 wheel drive while moving at any speed period! And that the transfer should be made at stand still. So now I'm not really sure which way to do it. All that I'm sure of, is that $300.00 expense for a new hub.”

NHTSA complaint #700752, filed 1998-11

“I was checking for recalls on my 1994 Ford Ranger and was surprised at how many recalls. The reason being that, my family has owned this vehicle since february 1994, we've only received the firestone recall notice. Ironically, I have had and still have some of the listed components that were recalled as well as as some unlisted components since 1996, these problems have cost my family any where between $1000.00 - $2000.00, every year just in repairs alone. The vehicle barely has 147,000 miles on it and is only used to commute to anf from work, and occassional drives to l.a. County. …”

NHTSA complaint #10005381, filed 2003-02

“A standard jack came with the vehicle. When jack was used for the first time, the frame cracked, causing the jack to get stuck upright. Please provide further information.”
