“Takata recall. My vehicle was damaged in the replacement of an airbag part where the airbag goes in the dash when it was in the dealership mechanic area being worked on. To my knowledge the vehicle was stationary and not running”

NHTSA complaint #11093221, filed 2018-05, 162,399 miles

“I was driving to work the day after a snowstorm in our area. Suddenly, the windshield wipers stopped functioning. I asked the service people at my local Ford dealer about this problem. They told me that ice probably accumulated in the vent in front of my windshield and I should pour hot water into the vent to thaw the ice. I can't do this whenever it snows and I'm on the highway.”

NHTSA complaint #10183035, filed 2007-02, 13,000 miles

“I purchased a 2006 Ford Ranger brand new in may of 2006. Soon after at probably 5000 or so miles my windshield wipers would come on for a few seconds and go off without me having turned them on. Then when it would rain hard and I had to use the wipers in high speed mode they would not shut off when I turned them off. Then also sometimes they will not come on at all. The other day it started pouring down rain and they would not come on and I nearly had a wreck. I had to pull over and wait for the rain to stop. …”

NHTSA complaint #10219598, filed 2008-02, 5,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2006 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that the windshield wiper works intermittently. When it rains, the wipers will not activate. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in recall number 05s40. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure and stated that the wipers were working normally. The current mileage was 47,000 and failure mileage was 10,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10219589, filed 2008-02, 10,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2006 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that the driver side window failed to manually open or close. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the crank and timing gear needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v322000 (air bags) and 16v036000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issues. …”
