NHTSA complaint #10013891, filed 2003-04, 87,000 miles“Rain causes a leak in the cabin of my 1999 Ford Taurus. I have had to replace the blower motor and fix the AC. Also causes damage to the interior carpet. The leak is always on the passenger side after rain.”
NHTSA complaint #10197774, filed 2007-07“An inetra-actuated switch, located on the right inside wall of the trunk can cause the engine to quit if an unsecured load strikes it. This causes loss of power steering and braking. This happened to me in a city-owned car while descending a steep hill in downtown seattle. Had I been more slightly-built, I would not have been able to control or stop the car, which I did with great difficulty.”
NHTSA complaint #707675, filed 1999-06“I was at a stop light when I first smelled the intoxicating fumes. Once the light turned I proceded to drive about 1/8th mile. While driving the car became difficult to accelerate. The oil light came on and the car instantly went dead making it nearly impossible to steer off to the side of the road. The dealership did say they have heard of this problem with the 1999 Ford Taurus, however there is not a recall on them. The dealership that repaired my car had another car come in with the same problem while my car was there.”
NHTSA complaint #719772, filed 2000-03“The contact owns a cosco high-rise/ambassador backless belt positioning booster seat, model #22-297-flp built on january 25, 2006. While the booster seat was being inspected, the inspector determined there was a clip missing from the seat. The clip that prevents the shoulder strap from pushing on the occupant's neck was missing. The manufacturer of the booster seat informed the contact the clip is no longer being manufactured; therefore they were unable to provide a replacement clip.”
