“I drive a 2011 Ford Taurus limited the keypad code never worked for my vehicle. I have the factory code for the door but I am put it in all the time and it never works. There are a lot of people out there complaining about the keypad not working I feel like Ford sold a faulty part and they should cover the cost to fix it”

NHTSA complaint #11103480, filed 2018-06, 100,000 miles

“My car has simply shut down 4 times. Fist at a stop sign, then on a highway, again at a stop and again on a highway. Almost was hit on the highway. I was able to pull over just as a semi sped by me. Everything shuts down as if the key was turned off. There is no power at all, no lights, no steering etc.. I had to restart the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10794725, filed 2015-11, 85,000 miles

“The rear window shade pops up and down when I put the car in reverse. Also the brakes roar when the brake is depressed hard. I've read a lot of complaints on the window shade. This appears to be a bad option that's put on a Ford.”

NHTSA complaint #10897319, filed 2016-08, 73,000 miles

“The car shuts off while I am driving. There is no power steering and no nothing. Each time I have been able to get off the road and each time the car starts right back up no problems but I am afraid of what may happen the next time. This has happened at different speeds and different times of the year.the first few times I took it to the dealership they said they could not find a problem. This last time they gave me a loaner car to drive while they take a deeper look into the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10676562, filed 2015-01, 52,801 miles

“Dear sir my 2011 Ford Taurus has shut off--------(3 times)--------now since 2012 while I was driving it with my remote key in my car. I did not make a record about it for the first two so am reporting on the latest. I have a push button ignition and remote keys. It randomly does not detect the keys as well and then it takes some pushing all the buttons on the remote to recognize I have the key there. Yesterday the dealership replaced the batteries in the remote and recommended I replace them annually. …”
