NHTSA complaint #10236203, filed 2008-07, 59,630 miles

“I have had nothing but problems with this car. I have only owned it for a year and 1/2, and have already put more money in to it than I will ever get out of it. I do not recommend this car to anyone! I went through in a four week span having the brakes go out, the muffler fell off. The head gaskets blew, the water pump broke and the power steering pump went out. I hate this car!! Dt”

NHTSA complaint #769468, filed 2002-11

“Its hard to believe that all this failed at once but it did. I just started my car to go somewhere and all this happened yet a few hours earlier it was fine.I asked the gentleman at napa auto store about this and he commented that he gets at least one person a week getting head gasgets for this engine size (3.8). I found this rather surprising and upsetting.”

NHTSA complaint #728793, filed 2000-08

“I recently read an article about spontaneous fires in Ford models on cnn. I used to have a Ford Taurus which caught on fire. Luckily we put it out before it got very large but the entire wiring harness burnt and it was unrepairable.”

NHTSA complaint #10125574, filed 2005-06

“Where do I start, this car has been a money pit from day one! The brakes had to be completely replaced 3 days after we bought the car--signature Ford claimed it was are fault after some argument they finally reimbursed us for the brakes. We discovered a small leak, we found it to be coming from the heater hose. We decided to trust signature Ford, they claimed that we needed a new heater hose, water pump and radiator. …”
