“On april 12, 2015, attended a family funeral in tampa, fl. The Transit Connect started to shift hard at highway speed, it would make a clunk noise. The dealer claimed that rodents had damaged the wiring harness. It was replaced by my comprehensive insurance, but my powertrain problems have persisted to this date. I have submitted a document sent to white's transmission of sebring, fl with a historical account of the powertrain issues.”

NHTSA complaint #11408232, filed 2021-04, 27,000 miles

“Possible bcm issue. The battery drains with the bcm fuse installed. The fuse pulled stops the battery drain issue. The batter was replaced and same issue occurs. Battery drain occurs overnight. Second issue. The transmission shifts rough between first and second gear, and bumps at highway speeds when accelerating. Have taken the vehicle to the dealer five times. Transmission overhauled, but issue continues. Have gotten transmission failure warning sign.”

NHTSA complaint #11245246, filed 2019-08, 43,000 miles

“The transmission downshifted hard and up-shifted hard while the vehicle was in motion. The tachometer went out of control while the vehicle was in motion during city driving and upon start up. This was caused by a leak in the left front axle.”

NHTSA complaint #11080864, filed 2018-03, 22,000 miles

“Vehicle was stationary. Transmission shift cable bushing fell out while shifting from park, transmission is stuck in park and cannot shift. Ford dealership will not sell the part.”

NHTSA complaint #11397560, filed 2021-02, 157,000 miles

“While exiting traffic circle at slow speeds, transmission did not respond when accelerating out of the circle, and continued to be unresponsive after pulling to the side of the road. The road was a city thoroughfare with a 35 MPH speed limit. Dealer said that signicant damage was discovered upon inspection, probably due to a transmission overfill. As the transmission had not previously been serviced, this was certainly a factory issue. The vehicle was not under warranty, and no compensation was offered.”

NHTSA complaint #11230820, filed 2019-07, 124,000 miles
