2014: “While going down ny thru way at 65mph my power king stx tire exploded and blew off the wheelwell and flare to the tune of $1400.00 not including the tire. This tire had less then 1000 miles and was 1 year old. My insurance adjuster showed me another power king tire that blew apart the same way 2 weeks ago. Clearly this tire is not adequate for the trailer they were installed on from the dealer.”
NHTSA complaint #11021055, filed 2017-09, 3,000 miles2011: “The contact owns a 2012 Forest River freedom express travel trailer (na). While the contact was driving approximately 10 MPH, the rear passenger side wheel suddenly detached from the vehicle. The dealer provided roadside assistance and performed a temporary repair which allowed the vehicle to be driven to an authorized dealer for inspection. The rear axle and both rear tires were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 1,600.”
