Example complaints

Fuel system: “My TWO WEEK OLD 2023 Genesis G80, which has less than 1000 miles on it, lost all motive power (i.e. power to the engine) after driving for approximately four hours. We were sitting in stop-and-go-traffic on the George Washington Bridge in New York, with the engine off (because of the vehicle's auto-off function). When the car ahead of us moved, I lifted my foot off the brake pedal, pressed the gas, and the engine immediately failed to respond, sputtered, and stopped. After about a minute, we were able to restart the engine and continue driving. …”

NHTSA complaint #11517566, filed 2023-04

Air bags: “The contact owned a 2023 Genesis G80. The contact stated that a 2001 Ford F-350, pulling a tow trailer, ran a red light while traveling at approximately 50 MPH and crashed into her vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to her left side, arm, neck, and back, and medical attention was provided. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The vehicle was towed to an auto recovery site. The contact called an unknown local dealer who referred her to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted, and they opened a claim. The failure mileage was 22,750. …”
