1998: “1998 Gmc sierra. A car cut in front of my truck and I had to apply the brakes very hard. When I did this ,the brake line that runs along the frame rail failed at the bend where it joins with the rear brake hose. The failure appeared to be from rust. This,I feel ,was due to poor location. I have a 1955 chevy pickup , that until 1 year ago still had its original lines still working.”

NHTSA complaint #10212644, filed 2007-12, 80,000 miles

2002: “General motors heavy duty hitch on 1999-present trucks & suvs. Rated for 1500 lbs tounge weight & 15,000 lbs total w/weight dist. Flexes under light load comnditions when using weight distrubition. Potential metal fatigue and failure(trailer breaking loose) nothing was done by my dealer, I replaced the hitch myself with an aftermarket product.”

NHTSA complaint #10080608, filed 2004-07, 18,400 miles

1997: “Windshield wipers/washers stopped and will not work. I understand there is a recall of the crew cab model of my vehicle, but, my vehicle is a club cab (extended cab) I do believe that all of the vehicles of this class use the same wiper/washer motor if they have intermittent wipers, so this vehicle should have been included in the recall.”
