Example complaints

Electrical system: “The low fuel level light has come on, and the tank was filled within 25 miles. Researching, I find this is a current issue with my vehicle. The fuel gauge shows empty almost all the time, and the check engine light has come on. The fuel gauge does not show correctly at all.”

NHTSA complaint #10460104, filed 2012-05, 59,000 miles

Exterior lighting: “The contact owns a 2006 Gmc ENVOY 360. While driving at approximately 40 MPH, the head lamps failed to illuminate without warning. The contact had to turn on the high beams in order to see the road. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10781904, filed 2015-10, 118,000 miles

Fuel system: “Gas sending unit/fuel pump lines rot out due to corrosion and spray gasoline all over the underside of vehicle. The vehicle might stall but often times it keeps running, all while spraying gasoline all over the place. This one does not even trip a check engine light while running in this condition. The only warning was the smell of gasoline- some people do not have a sense of smell, and this could have been very dangerous. This is a fire waiting to happen. This corrosion issue is known to GM, why is this not a safety recall? …”

NHTSA complaint #10821163, filed 2016-01, 119,000 miles

Air bags: “The contact owns a 2006 Gmc ENVOY 360. While driving 60 MPH, the service air bag message displayed across the message board. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the driver seat belt retractor pretensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 163,000.”
