“The low fuel level light has come on, and the tank was filled within 25 miles. Researching, I find this is a current issue with my vehicle. The fuel gauge shows empty almost all the time, and the check engine light has come on. The fuel gauge does not show correctly at all.”
NHTSA complaint #10460104, filed 2012-05, 59,000 miles“Gas sending unit/fuel pump lines rot out due to corrosion and spray gasoline all over the underside of vehicle. The vehicle might stall but often times it keeps running, all while spraying gasoline all over the place. This one does not even trip a check engine light while running in this condition. The only warning was the smell of gasoline- some people do not have a sense of smell, and this could have been very dangerous. This is a fire waiting to happen. This corrosion issue is known to GM, why is this not a safety recall? …”
