“I've had problem with the electrical system. When I try to play the cd player it says check disc sometimes the disc will not eject from the radio. The clock always reset itself to incorrect time and not all lights stay lit on dash. Reported this incident twice to dealer they replaced sensor twice and here it is 2008 warranty has expired and still having same problems.”

NHTSA complaint #10250503, filed 2008-12, 20,000 miles

“I bought my Gmc Envoy in january 2004 for approx. $42,000. This car has everything. After about 2 months of the purchase, my GPS went out and had been fixed twice. My brakes do not always work --sometimes they slip especially when I need them most -which is scary. Gmc said that they have heard about this problem before, but did nothing to resolve the problem. The engine stalls periodically. Gmc said they do not know why. The gas gauge and odometer do not work properly. …”

NHTSA complaint #10153264, filed 2006-03, 4,000 miles

“First of all my odometer gauge stopped operating. It remained on zero miles while I was driving the vehicle since november 2005. The whole dashboard cluster had to be reinstalled. Secondly; the service engine soon light began popping on and the Envoy was driving rough. I found out from a GM dealer that the clutch fan froze which caused the water pump to break and the radiator to over heat burst the radiator hose and spew out and leak all of the water and radiator fluid from the radiator. The Envoy is now not drivable. I have only had this 2004 Envoy since november of 2003.”

NHTSA complaint #10151678, filed 2006-03, 54,480 miles

“Air bags failed to deploy on our GM xuv after major crash into drivers side door and side frame. Called local dealer, referred to GM regional, said they didn't make the air bags . Wrote to GM home office referred back to regional. Regional said file was in legal gave up trying.”

NHTSA complaint #10629867, filed 2014-09

“Tailgate latches on 2004 Gmc Envoy xuv keep breaking repeatedly. Unable to open rear of vehicle. Parts have been replaced a number of times and they stop working over and over. If my kids get in the back and get stuck there is no way out the back of the vehicle.”
