“I had just drove my truck the night before headlights worked fine. I went to leave the next night and no headlights at all. So vehicle was stationary when I realized I had no headlights. I have to drive with my brights on at night. I have no regular headlights at all. Then my passenger side window just quit working as well.”
NHTSA complaint #11128576, filed 2018-09, 235,000 miles“When I went out to start my car it wouldn't start so I took the key and my dad my be I need a jump he said no if that was the case the car wouldn't even turn over. I went back out to try it again but still nothing so I began to turn the key back and fourth and eventually it stared. A few minutes the cigarette outlet caught on fire so I unplugged my car charger.”
NHTSA complaint #10655355, filed 2014-11, 18,661 miles“A recall has just been issued for Gmc Envoy. Driver side door panel shorts out and may cause a fire. Recall for 2006 and 2007 model years. My car is a 2005 and the driver door controls have been shorting out for about a year. I have not yet had a fire but why was my model year not recalled and what steps can I take to have this model year included in this recall?”
NHTSA complaint #10520240, filed 2013-06, 100,000 miles“Immediately after filling gas tank before heading out of town on 4/22/11, fuel gauge registered empty. Gauge has been acting erratically for the past week now. News report of NHTSA investigation made me aware that I could report this somewhere. Oil pressure gauge has also been acting similarly erratic, starting a few days before fuel gauge began malfunctioning.”
NHTSA complaint #10398981, filed 2011-04, 83,000 miles“I was driving down the highway when I noticed that the speedometer indicated that I was going 90+ MPH. I slowed down to the point that people were passing me in a 65mph zone and my speedometer was indicating 60 MPH. I pulled over and stopped the vehicle and the speedometer needle continued to erratically go up and down.”
