“When I went out to start my car it wouldn't start so I took the key and my dad my be I need a jump he said no if that was the case the car wouldn't even turn over. I went back out to try it again but still nothing so I began to turn the key back and fourth and eventually it stared. A few minutes the cigarette outlet caught on fire so I unplugged my car charger.”

NHTSA complaint #10655355, filed 2014-11, 18,661 miles

“I filled up at the local exxon gas station and when I started the car the fuel gauge reads empty with the yellow light illuminated. Tried starting the vehicle several times,to no avail.carried car to a mechanic and diagnosed the problem as the sending unit in the fuel tank. Repair cost roughly $800 - $1000 dollars.”

NHTSA complaint #10534721, filed 2013-08, 94,400 miles

“Fuel gauge just stopped working. Is always on e. Even when I fill it up.. Gas light constantly on and dinging. I know this is a problem in envoys and I feel Gmc should be liable for correcting the problem. Mileage range is huge so it is hard to travel and know when to get gas. Especially on the interstate when gas stations are not always in range.”

NHTSA complaint #10399024, filed 2011-05, 89,000 miles

“Immediately after filling gas tank before heading out of town on 4/22/11, fuel gauge registered empty. Gauge has been acting erratically for the past week now. News report of NHTSA investigation made me aware that I could report this somewhere. Oil pressure gauge has also been acting similarly erratic, starting a few days before fuel gauge began malfunctioning.”

NHTSA complaint #10398981, filed 2011-04, 83,000 miles

“The fuel gauge on my vehicle started to go up and down and then the yellow empty light came on all of a sudden while driving. Even after filling up the gas tank, the fuel gauge does not read correctly. I'm now at the point I have to keep track of my gas usage by using my trip meter and tracking the miles that I drive. I'm afraid to take my vehicle on long trips, not knowing when I may run out of gas.”
