1999: “Abs pump keeps running had to remove fuse to keep battery from running down I have a 1999 Gmc picjup truck. Repair of this pump is $1000.00 most people are pulling the fuse and running without ABS brakes. But the brake light is on all the time so you don't know when your brakes give out. From the resourch I have done this seems to be a very common problem. I believe there should be a recall to fix the faulty pumps. Thank you”
NHTSA complaint #10133875, filed 2005-08, 65,000 miles1995: “Gmc sent a recall letter in february 2003 and stated wipers for Gmc trucks would stop working intermittently. The letter also stated if you have had this problem, take your vehicle to a Gmc dealer for repairs at no cost to you. The letter did not require the repair be done, only indicated if you have had this problem. I never had the itermittent problem, my wipers stopped with no warning in february 2005. Gmc refuses to make these necessary costly repairs even though it is a life threatening matter.”
NHTSA complaint #10112006, filed 2005-02, 129,950 miles2002: “I found that the parking brake would not hold the vehicle when it was set while launching my boat on the slope of a boat ramp. This could cause injury or damage if the vehicle rolled while someone was behind the vehicle when it began rolling. The local dealers mechanic checked the parking brake shoes and found that the left one was extremely worn while the right one was in good shape. This indicates that the parking brake was not accidentally left on while driving because both brakes would be worn. …”
