“I pushed on the brakes when slowly pulling into a parking spot and the brakes got squishy and barely stopped before I hit another parked car. This happened a few times before I got the vehicle home. Then a message popped up that said service brake assist system . I took the truck in and they said they would need to replace the vacuum pump and 2 belts.”

NHTSA complaint #11181123, filed 2019-02, 77,000 miles

“At low speeds break pedal will not depress and I have a hard time stopping the truck. I almost hit a car yesterday and after doing some research found that the vacuum pump failure is a known problem. This is extremely scary and dangerous. Someone could easily hit a pedestrian. My truck has less than 50,000 miles, which seems to be the average for this problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11170697, filed 2019-01, 48,400 miles

“Experienced an unusual reaction to breaking. A few days later I had brake warning lights on the dash. Took the vehicle to the dealer and they had to replace the cylinder brake master and the brake booster and add new fluid. Which I paid for. Now I see there may be other issues as there are other complaints you're investigating. I want to put mine on record.”

NHTSA complaint #11154281, filed 2018-11, 32,631 miles

“While in motion the brake pedal goes hard and is difficult to stop. I believe this is the cause of a low speed incident I had earlier this year. The issue occurres mostly at slow speeds in stop and go traffic. If feels like the brake booster fails and the pedal is bottomed out. It happens frequesntly while hauling a trailer in reverse. Very dangerous situation.”

NHTSA complaint #11100297, filed 2018-06, 40,000 miles

“In slow traffic today I almost slammed into the back of a car! The brake pedal went to the floor, and had a shutter feelin terrible!! This is scary and needs recalled now!! I heard it was but came up no with my VIN#?? But my year is supposed to be recalled...this needs fixed im not happy after today..”
