“I went to the mall yesterday and my car stared shaking the mall is 4 miles away from my house. I was driving through this intersection on the way home and I heard a horrible pop and saw something fly in the air and fall off of my car. It was the driver shaft and that part was laying in the road about 4 feet long and if someone would have ran over it I believe it could have caused injury to someone. This car has had so many issues. From tail lights going out at one time, the door knob falling off, the arm of the seat broke and now the head light just went out. …”
NHTSA complaint #10437306, filed 2011-11, 75,000 miles“The contact owns a 2007 Gmc Yukon Xl. The contact stated that the rear tail light assembly became loose. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was designed with only the screws to support the rear tail light assembly and not the washers. A temporary repair was performed by the contact where he installed after market washers. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.....updated 10-21-13”
