“While I was driving the stabilitrak off light flashed on the dashboard, including the traction control off. This has shut down my car on the highway several times since 2016. When I took it to the dealership, it would reset itself and the codes would go away temporarily. The dealership recommended to change the engine control module and cables. I had to get towed off the highway as this happens so randomly. The repair shop says that it is a mystery to them as they have called their Gmc specialty technicians for advice. …”

NHTSA complaint #11384423, filed 2020-12, 80,000 miles

“Engine started by itself while car was in the garage. Engine was racing. Garage was extremely hot from engine running. Key was in ignition but pulled out so the alarm wouldn't ding. Doors were not locked (need to be locked for remote engine start to work). Opened driver door, reached for keys and they fell out in my hand and the engine shut down by itself. We will take the car to pierce dodge/GM ronan, mt for evaluation.”

NHTSA complaint #10479578, filed 2012-10, 105,000 miles

“Excessive oil leak went to the dealer numerous times, but they said it was normal to leak a quart between oil changes. Had numerous tests done and they said it was still within standards. I am sorry but I don't think that a quart between oil changes is acceptable. Been ongoing for a while and I am sure it is leaking two quarts and there is a seal leaking near the oil pan. Pretty severe to have not been fixed by the dealer in the beginning. They want over $600 to repair the leak now.”

NHTSA complaint #10617107, filed 2014-07, 44,000 miles

“While picking up my children from school the engine started backfiring, pulled the car over and put into park idle completely unstable, traction control service light came on engine light came on. Hard shift on transmission. Totally disappointed. Took it to the dealership for a diagnosis they say the lifters are bad and are no longer covered under warranty. Quoted me 2700.00 to replace 2 lifters so not acceptable this car does not even require a tune up until 100000 miles. Explained that to the service rep and he came back with a different quote telling me they would be willing to cover half. …”

NHTSA complaint #10568651, filed 2014-03, 52,000 miles

“Persistent ticking lifter upon start of a cold engine. Slight loss of power until the engine finally warms and the ticking subsides. This problem occurs in both warm and cold weather but is worse during cold weather. When I asked the local GM dealer about a solution, they described a potential repair; a baffle may be installed in the oil pan to correct the problem of oil draining out of the top side of the motor. …”
