“Nothing has yet failed, but my engine has consumed oil but is apparently within the GM standard of less than 1 quart in 2,000 miles. My vehicle is also involved in the GM loss of engine propulsion recall that I was notified of on 4/24, but a remedy for my vin is still not available. How can something that could lead to loss of engine function take this long to remedy?”
NHTSA complaint #11680065, filed 2025-08“it’s the lifters that are collapsed and The lifters are pitted because the camshaft is cracked. So in couple months some of my friends who owned GMC Yukon had same problem. I think this problem become a common problem need to investigated by GMC and the cost should paid by GMC no matter it’s in guaranteed or not. Repair cost is around 10000$.”
NHTSA complaint #11591506, filed 2024-05“No warning the car made a loud clunk that shook the car. The engine began a severe knock with almost compete loss of power. The dealer confirmed the entire engine had to be replaced. I was told my car passed the PICO test recall and only required an oil viscosity change. There is something very wrong here. These engines are not right. I have handicapped twins and have zero confidence it won't leave my family stranded.”
NHTSA complaint #11758654, filed 2026-08“I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the vehicle I purchased from your dealership. Despite my expectations at the time of purchase, the vehicle has not met the standards that were represented to me. This letter is intended to address my concerns regarding the vehicle’s features, undisclosed recalls, and significant mechanical and safety issues discovered immediately after delivery. …”
NHTSA complaint #11705464, filed 2025-12“GM released a special warranty for the coolant control valve. My vin number does not qualify but it is currently at the dealership getting replaced because it failed. I don't understand how the same exact vehicle with a different Vin qualifies but mine does not. I am within the time frame and mileage of their warranty for their special coverage but because my vin isn't on the list I don't get the special coverage/warranty.”
