“I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the vehicle I purchased from your dealership. This letter is intended to address my concerns regarding the vehicle’s features, undisclosed recalls, and significant mechanical and safety issues discovered immediately after delivery. …”

NHTSA complaint #11705464, filed 2025-12

“The engine in my 2022 GMC Yukon XL equipped with the 6.2L L87 V8 experienced a sudden loss of power while traveling at interstate speed. The vehicle had previously received the GM L87 engine recall remedy. Despite the recall being completed, the engine failed, leaving me and my family in a dangerous situation. The vehicle is currently at a GMC dealership and is available for inspection upon request. The sudden loss of engine power on a busy interstate created an immediate safety hazard. …”

NHTSA complaint #11750436, filed 2026-07

“I think it is a transmission type of failure. I'm not sure of the exact mechanical specifics. While putting the vehicle in reverse, driving and or accelerating it feels like the transmission is locking up and then releasing, and then locking up again. It felt very dangerous for that to happen while driving down the road. I took the vehicle to a local mechanic that was near by for assistance and he said I should take it to a dealership because there was a recall due to that issue on my type of vehicle that he knew about. …”

NHTSA complaint #11763076, filed 2026-09

“On 8/22/25 was brought to my local GMC dealer for the L87 engine propulsion recall. The dealership tested and said the vehicle passed the test. On 12/3/25 while driving on a multi lane highway the vehicle engine stopped abruptly. The message restart engine appeared on the dashboard. I had to negotiate other vehicle travelling at highway speeds to get to coast off to a side street. The transmission went into park and could not be shifted to neutral with a message on the dashboard transmission cannot be shifted in this configuration . …”

NHTSA complaint #11712083, filed 2026-01

“While driving on I-77 South near exit 3 Charlotte, NC -with no warning signals or indication the vehicle lost power and shut down as I was driving at a speed of 70 miles an hour on the highway, Fortunately I was able to struggle and pull off to the emergency lane of the highway. I tried several times to start vehicle with no success. The vehicle was towed to the dealership immediately. My major concern is that this year model 2022 GMC has not been RECALLED. A very popular model that families rely on for travel on a daily basis. …”
