“The dashboard has spontaneously cracked in two locations after sitting in our garage. A 6 crack has no formed over the curved instrument cluster display on driver side and a 1 crack has occurred near the air bag cover corner on passenger side. These cracks are similar in location and size to others that have been reported on Gmc yukons. Started noticing the crack in august of 2020. I have received a recall on passenger side airbag.”

NHTSA complaint #11406200, filed 2021-04, 120,000 miles

“I was driving with my vehicle in auto 4wd, because we had icy roads. My vehicles rear drive slipped on some ice and then I got a message indicating my stabilizer system was needing work, then the electrical system (instrumentation dash) started to flash on and off. I pulled off the road and turned off my vehicle and then tried to restart it and it would not start. I tried a 2nd time and it started, put it in gear and started back out on the road. …”

NHTSA complaint #11299974, filed 2020-01, 72,200 miles

“Dashboard cracked on april 6th I got into my car and saw that there was a huge crack in my dashboard right above the steering wheel. I have reached out to GM about this problem and they are unwilling to fix the problem even though my car is under GM certified bumper to bumper warranty. I am afraid that if there is a car accident then parts of this dashboard that is cracked will come off and injury whoever is in the car.”

NHTSA complaint #10986399, filed 2017-05, 57,000 miles

“I purchased a 2011 Gmc Yukon Xl in january 2011. In august 2014 (57545 miles), the dash began to split above the steering wheel and near the front passenger's air bag. A local Gmc dealer replaced the dash at a deductible charge from me of $150. In april of 2016 (87116 miles) the installed replacement dash has split near the front passenger's airbag. The same dealer has said they will replace the second dash at a 30% discount, costing me $600. …”

NHTSA complaint #10863962, filed 2016-05, 87,116 miles

“The dashboard has large cracks over the instrument cluster and in the area of the passenger air bag. The dash flops up and down when driving. Concern is crack could prevent passenger air bag from deploring during a accident or ripping the air bag at deployment. Also liquid could accidentally go thru crack over instrument cluster causing electrical short or fire. The crack continues to get larger and larger.”
