“I have a 2003 Gmc Yukon. Several days ago I was going to put some items in the back end. After raising the rear hatch glass, I heard a popping noise. I couldn't tell where it came from at first, but when I tried to shut the rear glass, the right side of the glass just popped up. After looking at it closely I could see that the glass was separated from the right hinge. I had to pull the glass down by hand and align it while trying to shut the glass. My vehicle is a 2003 model with 55,000 miles. It is a second vehicle and stays garaged most of the time. …”

NHTSA complaint #10364058, filed 2010-11, 55,000 miles

“The back glass left side hinge separated from the glass and broke while driving down the interstate. The glass could have come off from suction and hurt someone. There is a recall out for other Gmc sport utility vehicles but not for this VIN.”

“The right hinge of the rear lift glass on 2003 Gmc Yukon failed causing a dangerous condition whereby the rear glass could blow out, or otherwise fall off the car. I am told the entire rear lift glass must be replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #10356761, filed 2010-09, 135,000 miles

“Consumer stated that the dashboard was peeling. Took the vehicle to dealer for repairs. In the process, the air bags were damaged. The repairs were done but problem recurred. Air bags will not deploy.”
