Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“I very rarely use my rear glass hatch of my 2004 Yukon, but recently when having to load up my Yukon to evacuate hurricane gustav. When I went to close it, I heard a load pop and noticed that the left rear glass hinge had broken up. When I returned home, I called the Gmc dealership where I purchased the vehicle and was told that it is not covered by my extended warranty. They have the replacement in stock, but since they do not deem it a safety issue, the part has not been recalled. …”

“I have a 2004 Yukon that has the rear hatch back. The glass has become detached from the body of the vehicle. It is very expensive to replace. I talking to body shops and the dealership, I have learned that this problem is not that uncommon. One local owner of a auto body shop said they this is a defect in the way these windows are attached to the vehicle.”
