“On Star module quit working in our Yukon, which in turn makes it useless to have any of the safety features. On Star and GM know this is an ongoing problem, but no recall has been issued. Neither company will repair unless an $1100 fee is paid. Why install On Star if you know it will malfunction. Since there is a monthly service fee I think they need to make sure the vehicle has the correct parts.”

NHTSA complaint #11717049, filed 2026-02

“My onstar module crashed. I cant use any of my features. What if im in a wreck? I paid so much money for this car only for it to crap out like this. Not to mention the part is on back order and have no idea when it will come in!!”

NHTSA complaint #11645378, filed 2025-02

“My vehicle was 8 months old and it completely stopped with no warning going down the interstate, I was in the left lane and the vehicle locked up, engine and all leaving me stranded in the left lane on a busy interstate. When the engine quits, there is absolutely no way to get the vehicle into neutral to get it to a safe location. When this happened I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler . After having the vehicle towed to the dealership, they informed me the engine was seized. …”

NHTSA complaint #11644368, filed 2025-02

“this yukon is leaking water into the cabin and mold has developed. i do not know when this issue started but i noticed the mold under the passenger rubber mat on 8/26/23. i contacted the local dealer, koon's gmc and they told me that they would charge me to just look at the car even though it is under a bumper to bumper 3 year warranty. the dealer was unable to locate the source of the leak, so nothing was fixed. i have been in touch with a gmc representative and she hasn't any useful information. …”

NHTSA complaint #11543108, filed 2023-09

“On September 9th at approximately 5:00 pm, my wife and I left Augusta and headed to Atlanta to attend an event. While driving highway speeds of about 70-80mph, the vehicle began to decelerate rapidly and then shifted itself into neutral gear. Unable to shift back into drive, I was forced to maneuver my slowing vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway, placing myself and my wife in danger of colliding with the other vehicles who were still travelling at highway speeds. After pulling over onto the shoulder, I was able to shift the vehicle into park and turn it completely off. …”
