Example complaints

Engine: “This is my second rear gasket replacement. I had my bike serviced this week. My bike stalls sometimes and I believe it is due to the oil pump issue associated with HD M8 motors 2017 through 2019. I don’t understand whether there is a recall? With so many motorcycles that have had seized motors, blown, gaskets, etc. HD even put out a Service bulletin M1450. Next, they redesigned their oil pump.I can’t wait for a recall and continue to put my life on the line. My understanding is that there is a recall coming. Can you confirm this?”

NHTSA complaint #11768846, filed 2026-10

Transmission and drivetrain: “Transmissions oil is going in to the primary and leaving the transmission dry oil it only happens on the 2019 flux with the 114 in it that we have seen so far”

NHTSA complaint #11222060, filed 2019-06, 1,934 miles

Engine cooling: “The contact owns a 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide FLHXS. The contact stated that upon a routine oil change, oil was discovered leaking out of the primary oil cover. A dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that an extensive diagnostic test needed to be performed to determine the cause of the failure. The motorcycle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that the connection between the engine output shaft and the transmission was sucking fluid out of the transmission. …”
