“I bought a 2011 Honda Civic from a used car dealer. While the car is in motion or sitting at stop light with the heater on or A/C on you can smell raw gas smell. It comes and goes.most of the time you smell it. If you put climate control in reticulation there is no smell of raw fuel at all.dealer cannot find any leaks I can't either. Since they sold this to me and this is a health concern can I make them take car back?”

NHTSA complaint #10934921, filed 2016-12, 52,800 miles

“I purchased new 2011 Honda Civic lx sedan vehicle. The vehicle's check engine light came on when I drove it off the lot. It was allegedly repaired by dealer. However, within 24 hours check engine light came on again. The vehicle has been at greenwich Honda, mason street, greenwich ct three times already and it is still not repaired. It appears that vehicle has never been environmental compliant. The engine appears to run irregularly at times and I am afraid that it may accelerate out of control.”

NHTSA complaint #10389935, filed 2011-03, 14 miles

“Vehicle rollover crash. Fire seems to be from a recalled fuel valve. If my family burnt alive in that vehicle I would have a sick vendetta for those responsible for the non reporting of safety concerns to me as an insured driver. Including but not limited to all parties involved or responsible. This is a child safety concern. Children can be burned alive due to this hazard of engineering designed to cause total destruction for profiting purposes. The technologies at hand are too great for this type of absolute incompetence to occur. …”

NHTSA complaint #10510345, filed 2013-05, 52,000 miles

“I called Honda customer care and they told me that the problem that I am experiencing is not covered any longer under the warranty. When I turned left, a clunking noise can be heard, at first I thought it was a drive axle. Brought to the dealer, charged me a diagnostic fee and they confirmed that it is not an axle problem. They told me that it is a bump stop problem, I have two older Honda vehicles and I did not have this problem. Honda struts are mediocre and low in quality. The second problem that I have is evap mil (p2422). As per TSB, this needs to be fixed as well on this same car.”

NHTSA complaint #10745666, filed 2015-08, 55,000 miles

“Brakes beginning to squeak again. Brakes replaced two times since purchase of car- 2011 new Honda Civic. This will be the third attempt to correct brakes! Dealership was unable to duplicate issue of acceleration while at the dealer so the car was not repaired. Automatic door locks were locking on their own, dealer fixed.”
