“The car keep on shutting off. Checked the fuel pump assembly on my driveway. I found out a burnt electrical connector to the fuel pump. It melted part of the fuel pump container. It's good the tank was not full. It could have blown the tank and the car. My mechanic would attest for this. I forgot to take a picture of the burnt part of the fuel pump assembly. I still have the burnt connector though.”

“In august 2010 I took my 2008 Honda Civic hybrid to the dealer for routine maintenance. The dealer performed a purported software update on the battery system without notifying me until afterwards. Immediately upon leaving the dealer, I noticed a profound reduction in power and acceleration. …”

NHTSA complaint #10354345, filed 2010-09, 13,500 miles

“'08 Honda Civic hybrid experiencing a dramatic decrease in fuel economy. Ima battery suspected. Dealership upgraded software (as per Honda recall) and told me that to get better mpg's I should shut off my heater (we live in wisconsin!) and recommended an air filter change. I stated that an air filter and shutting off the heat would not increase my mpg's from 28-31 back up to it's prior performance range of 40-50. Vehicle is still dramatically underperforming. …”

“Gas tank leaks when filled, driving or sitting. Seal on tank to filler neck. Gave no code on the emission system and passed smoke test at repair shop. Contacted Honda headquarters. Vin number not listed on fuel tank warranty extension 11-0689. Extension on Civic 2006 to 2011.”

NHTSA complaint #11352553, filed 2020-09, 179,000 miles

“On january 23, 2010, I was involved in a single automobile accident, on highway 111, in indian wells, ca. Roads were wet that day. I recall my vehicle hydro-planing and spinning out of control. That is the last I recall, as I believe I was knocked unconscious, I awoke minutes later to find myself still in the drivers seat, to find my back seat engulfed in flames. I managed to free myself from my seat belt and get out through the drivers side window. As managed to get on my feet I walked away from the vehicle just in time for it to explode.. …”
