“The sun visor on the driver's side of my 2008 Honda Civic ex-l broke while under warranty and the dealer replaced it. Now, out of warranty, the visor on the passenger side has broken. I have not pursued any action from Honda, yet. I have been reading on-linethat this is a frequent complaint and I wanted file my own complaint to add to the others.”

NHTSA complaint #10381707, filed 2011-02, 45,000 miles

“Both sun visors on our Honda Civic would not work and then eventually the glue melted and they cracked and fell off. We have no way of securing our visors and have recently heard of a recall. I can't find my VIN number within the limitations of the recall but I don't feel like I should have to pay for the repair.”

NHTSA complaint #10462935, filed 2012-06, 10,000 miles

“I got in my car and pulled down the sun visor on the driver's side and it broke. I tried pushing it back up against the top lining, but it kept falling down. I had to drive 10 miles to get home with my vision partially blocked because the visor would not stay up. I understand this is a common problem with many Honda civics.”

NHTSA complaint #10392683, filed 2011-03, 41,000 miles

“Over time, the plastic portion of my driver's side sun visor rotted and broke so that the visor is constantly down. Because of this, my field of vision is always restricted. If I tape the visor up, frequently I'm blinded by the sun or other bright lights. I have contacted Honda regarding this defect, but as yet, they won't fix the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10373204, filed 2010-12, 45,000 miles

“The sun visor in my 2008 Honda Civic has fallen apart. I am the only driver of the car and under normal wear and tear it would not stay up out of my way. After a month like that it just fell off completely. This occurred around 32,000 miles. After investigating online it seems like a common problem that will cost more than $100 to fix. I have seeing because of the glare of the sun.”
