“The winshield has cracked twice in the one year I have owned it. It costs $1,000 to repair it. I have never had a winshield crack in 33 years of owning cars. There is an issue causing this to occur. I had a rock chip in both instances.”
NHTSA complaint #11353001, filed 2020-09, 19,000 miles“The rear window shattered while driving. I had turned on my rear window defroster to help clear the window of fog. Several minutes later there was a loud pop, and I saw a hole in the lower left corner of the window under the spoiler, and the rest of the glass was cracked. I pulled over to see if something had hit the window, and there was no evidence of that happening.”
NHTSA complaint #11738376, filed 2026-05“Honda won't cover my failing Evaporator for the AC in my 2019 Civic with only 43,000 miles. The AC helps defrost my windshield, it is a safety concern not to mention the scorching heat we get in the California summers. It is absurd that this part is failing already and Honda has admitted to numerous issues throughout the AC systems of these cars but claims no responsibility for the failed evaporator. They do this because it is a labor-intensive part to replace and it is unfair to shoulder this issue on the consumer.”
NHTSA complaint #11576593, filed 2024-03“30,000 miles on my vehicle and my A/C compressor is on-op, therefore I cannot defrost my windshield and keep the fog off it in certain conditions causing a visibility hazzard.”
NHTSA complaint #11558626, filed 2023-12“The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic Sedan. The contact stated the AC unit was blowing hot air through the vents. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the AC compressor to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.”
