“The contact owns a 1997 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's front seat belts failed to unlatch from the buckle. The vehicle was not yet taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.”
NHTSA complaint #11377555, filed 2020-12, 200,000 miles“The seat belt is designed in such a way as it can wrap around the seat back tilt adjustment, causing the drivers seat back to fly back. This happened to me while leaving a toll booth on the indiana tollway. It appears to be happening more often as the vehicle ages and the restraint system became worn.”
