“The srs (safety restraint system) warning light came on in my 2005 Honda crv with less than 18,000 miles on it. The light will not go out. The car has never been in an accident. The Honda dealer has performed diagnostic tests that indicate that nothing is wrong and the air bags should deploy and seat belts should work in an accident. Who do I believe -- the warning light or the diagnostic tests. I don't like driving a car that has a warning light indicating something is wrong with a safety system.”

NHTSA complaint #10255871, filed 2009-01, 17,300 miles

“Both driver and passenger seats did not restraint occupants in a three car accident. Crv hit from behind. Crv hit car ahead. Driver chest hit steering wheel. Passenger hit window and dash. Relatively low speed accident. Air bags did not deploy. Seats belts ended up extended and stuck in this position. Seat belts will now not retract.”

NHTSA complaint #10553000, filed 2013-11, 130,000 miles

“I had the driver's air bag replaced under recall. Received recall notice on passenger air bag and had it replace. After that recall, the srs warning light came on and won't go off. Had Honda dealer check it and was told that it's the driver's side sensor in the seat belt clip. Cost would be over $800.00 to fix. If srs light is on air bag won't deploy. This is a safety issue and should have a recall on it since the srs light was not causing a problem until the passenger air bag was replaced. Car has about 82,000 miles on it.”

NHTSA complaint #11102403, filed 2018-06, 81,500 miles

“Airbag light comes on intermittently. Told by Honda dealer that this is due to seatbelt part that is faulty on the driver's side. Is this part of a recall? I bought the car in 2017 and I am not sure what recalls have been missed.”

NHTSA complaint #11184331, filed 2019-03

“Takata recall - on nov 19, 2016, I had an accident. I was going down a sandy dirt road and heard a loud pop or bang (ended up being the stabilizer bar broke) and suddenly the steering wheel was jerked to the left, slamming the car into a ditch where there was a full embankment. I was slung to the left, hitting my head on the drivers side window, while at the same time the side curtain airbags and the side seat airbag deployed, bouncing me back to center. To my shock and wonder the drivers side, steering wheel air bag never deployed, which has concerned me every since the accident.”
