“Fuel injectors prematurely went out leaving me in limp mode with 4 lights flashing on the dash at 10mph on the interstate until I gave up and pulled over and just got a tow home”

NHTSA complaint #11403338, filed 2021-03, 92,000 miles

“Fuel injectors failed (known issue) causing me to be stranded with kids. Car was under warranty. Dealer refused to cover under warranty even though federal emissions warranty required it for the mileage at the time. Next year catalytic converter failed causing me to fail emissions test. Dealer refused to cover under federal emissions warranty , claiming that fuel injectors cause the catalytic converter to fail and it the catalytic converter itself had no defects. Causing pollution, safety, and performance issues. Stranded with infant. Company violating clean air act and profiting on it.”

NHTSA complaint #11363600, filed 2020-10, 34,280 miles

“New 2016 FIT with approx 5500 miles started developing an audiable ticking/clicking noise when releasing the clutch pedal going into 1st gear from a stationary position. Much more pronounce when on an incline and has progressively worsen since approx 3500 miles. No vibrations transmitted through the pedal assembly noted. Did not have this noise when the car was new. Dealer removed transmission, replaced clutch assembly and throwout bearing and returned car under warranty. Clicking noise persist. …”

NHTSA complaint #10907051, filed 2016-09, 3,500 miles

“The breather tube for the CVT transmission becomes clogged, causing the rubber fill plug to pop out and spill CVT fluid and allow water, dirt, rocks, and other debris to enter directly into the transmission. This has caused a slipping of the transmission at low speed when accelerating from a stop. Several times, when pulling out on a main road, it will stutter and not apply power to accelerate properly. I am genuinely concerned that it's going to cause me to get hit by an oncoming vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #11454639, filed 2022-03

“The cvt transmission is going out. The dealer has conformed this. This vehicle only has 120000 miles on it and has had every transmission service that was recommended. When this goes completely it could cause an accident at freeway speeds. I believe this model year needs to be added to the cvt recall list and should be covered by honda to 150000 since they clearly know they have an issue here.”
