“After 95000 miles, transmission failed with very little warning. For about 25 miles on city streets, the car bucked at speeds under 30 MPH. Stopped at a store, and could not leave parking lot because transmission just stopped completely. I had done all of the scheduled maintenance at Honda dealerships, and I purchased the car as new.”
NHTSA complaint #11102172, filed 2018-06, 95,000 miles“My car started making a jack hammer noise 10/2020 while driving, when it was 5 years old with 47,000. The Honda dealership diagnosed my transmission was slipping and needed replacing. Apparently, there have been 143000 recalls due to transmission failure.”
NHTSA complaint #11364448, filed 2020-10, 47,000 miles“This started happening earlier this week and has recurred a few times. After backing out of my garage and moving the at from r to d, it takes a few seconds for power to be delivered to the drive wheels. Since I've been holding down the accelerator a little bit, expecting forward motion, when power is finally sent to the drive wheels, the car surges a little bit. …”
NHTSA complaint #10692667, filed 2015-03, 11,427 miles“I was on the freeway and my vehicle started acting strange-it was having difficult accelerating and felt bumpy. I was able to exit off of the freeway. The vehicle stopped moving and would not engage into gear. I could not drive or reverse the vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to a Honda dealership. They drained and inspected the fluid to find metal debris in magnet that looked like CVT belt parts. They said the CVT belt broke transmission and the transmission needed to be replaced. I found the NHTSA recall reference number 15v574000. …”
NHTSA complaint #11309296, filed 2020-02, 72,547 miles“My car has approximately 60,000 miles on it and has only ever been used for transport from home to school. I was driving at approximately 20 MPH and the check engine light came on while I was in motion. A couple minutes later, the power steering, traction, and tire pressure light came on all at the same time while I was in motion. My car jerked and I lost control for a brief second. The lights will flash on and off at random times while I'm in motion and is especially terrifying when trying to drive at a highway speed. …”
