“The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that the front driver’s side seat belt was locking without depressing the brake pedal. The contact had to unlock the seat belt by removing the tongue from the buckle to retract and reset for normal functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the seat belt failed and needed to be replaced. The seat belt was replaced. The failure was persistent. The front passenger’s side seat belt had experienced the same failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 5,000.”
