“The steering on my ‘25 Honda HRV is sticky, at freeway speeds it makes even slight corrections dangerous. What was meant to be a slight curve turns into a swerve. Steering feels sticky and requires more force to move. I was driving on a curve and attempting to follow the curve on the freeway and the wheel wouldn’t smoothly go”

NHTSA complaint #11750082, filed 2026-07

“Multiple times in the last year, I would be driving and it felt like my steering wheel would stick when navigating turns on the road, enough so that I would be turning my hands to turn the wheel and I would feel resistance like the car was slightly trying to fight me on the direction I wanted to go. Enough so that myself and others who have driven my vehicle have also noticed the random slight resistance. …”

NHTSA complaint #11718028, filed 2026-02

“Today while driving my car steeling wheel was super hard to turn and all my warning signals came on and it did an emergency brake on the highway … which was super dangerous.”

NHTSA complaint #11746863, filed 2026-06

“While driving on highway under 40mph, the brakes and steering wheel locked simultaneously. I was unable to control the car—pressing the foot brake and emergency brake did not stop the car and I could not steer as the wheel was locked. I ended up on the side of the road alongside a wall of snow. The dashboard was lighting up throughout this time with rotating emergency messaging—TPMS, transmission, brake system, flat tire, etc. There were no warning messages displayed and complete control of the car was taken away without warning. …”

NHTSA complaint #11719550, filed 2026-02

“I have had a problem with the worm wheel steering box since I first purchased this vehicle. Being new to HONDA, I thought driving the vehicle was supposed to be rough and shaky. However, after some time, I knew it was not normal. I first reached out to HONDA in September and have consistently gotten the run around. I then made another appointment back in October to report it, then was told there was a recall. I asked if I could make an appointment and they said they have no parts, not sure when they will get parts because its on back-order. …”
