Example complaints

Steering: “The steering on my ‘25 Honda HRV is sticky, at freeway speeds it makes even slight corrections dangerous. What was meant to be a slight curve turns into a swerve. Steering feels sticky and requires more force to move. I was driving on a curve and attempting to follow the curve on the freeway and the wheel wouldn’t smoothly go”

NHTSA complaint #11750082, filed 2026-07

Other or unknown: “We experienced two problems with our Honda HRV, which was purchased in June 2025 (less than a year ago). The first issue is that the engine started displaying warning lights and would not turn on. This was due to rodents chewing on the wires, which were apparently soy-based plastic. The second issue is that the rear windshield shattered for no reason the other day. This is apparently a known issue with 2023 and 2024 HRV vehicles that led to a recall, but it also appears to be occurring with the 2025 HRV.”

NHTSA complaint #11713597, filed 2026-01

Brakes: “While parking my car and going under 20 mph, my car suddenly accelerated. My foot was not on the brake or the accelerator when this occurred. I was forced to slam my brake to prevent myself from hitting the curb in front of me . This has happened twice, both in the process of turning to park and going under 20 mph. My cruise control was not on at the time. I have taken my car to Honda to investigate and they were unable to replicate the issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11690046, filed 2025-09

Forward collision avoidance: “When driving with cruise control on the vehicle will brake when car is coming toward me from other lane as if the car is going in my lane and it is not. It has caused me to have several close calls with cars behind me almost hitting me.”

NHTSA complaint #11691885, filed 2025-10
