“A passenger became locked and trapped in the rear seat compartment after the driver and key fob walked away from the vehicle. The childproof lock setting in either the locked or in the unlocked position does not eliminate the trap. The problem is not addressed in the driver manual. It is highly likely that a passenger will eventually be killed as a result of this design in the event they are trapped in either hot or cold weather.”
