“My 2007 Honda Odyssey air condition stopped blowing cold I took it to a the dealer thay said a rock hit the AC condenser thay said it would cost $900 to fix I asked to see the hole it was behind a pipe witched looked like had rubbed against the condenser the dealer will not replace the condenser”
NHTSA complaint #10322255, filed 2010-03, 60,000 miles“I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey. Mileage is less than 10,000 miles. Air conditioning was blowing hot air. Took it to the Honda dealership in roanoke, virginia, and was told that it looks like a rock had flown into the air conditioning condenser and punctured it. They would not cover it under warranty and said that I could make a claim under my auto insurance policy. Their charge to repair/replace is $700.”
NHTSA complaint #10206533, filed 2007-10, 10,000 miles“I have a 2007 ex with 13,000 miles and both of the tailgate (hatch) struts just failed suddently on 08/15/2010. There should be some additional safety mechanism on these so that they just don't collapse and cause harm (the hatch almost slam my 7-years old son on the head). Both can not go bad at one time and either one should support some weight. It is quite dangerous. These liftgate struts should be recalled before bad things happen. Honda should stand behind what they put in these cars.”
NHTSA complaint #10349643, filed 2010-08, 13,000 miles“The vehicle we are reporting an issue with is a 2007 Honda Odyssey. The car was purchased last october so it is less then 1 year old and has less then 5,000 miles on it. On tuesday 8/12/2008 the sliding door on the driver side of the car closed on my 2 year olds hand. The door malfunctioned in 2 ways a) the door has a sensor built in that if it meets resistance it bounces back open. In this case the door did not bounce back open as it should have and closed on my kids hand. …”
NHTSA complaint #10238113, filed 2008-08, 4,700 miles“2007 Honda Odyssey - 3/28/09. Noticed AC was not working. On 4/6/09 I took the vehicle to be inspected at the dealership where it was purchased. The service rep indicated it was a small hole in the condenser, most likely caused by a road hazard (rock), and not covered by the warranty. I paid for the $1060 repair. After the vehicle was repaired, I was told by coworkers it is a notorious design issue. This was confirmed by a quick visit to google. The dealership made no mention of the common occurrence. …”
