“The vsa light check engine light and fuel light here and there keeps coming on I just had this vehicle for 4 years already I just had the engine oil leak fixed I changed oil every 6 months. Also had the alternator and starter changed as well as battery replaced. Is there any possibility the software on the vehicle needs to be updated?”

NHTSA complaint #11362632, filed 2020-10, 100,200 miles

“My catalytic converter shields (front cover a and b) were replaced on 6/19/2012. On 6/22/2015 the front (a and b) catalytic converter shields were replaced again and the the rear shields (a and b) were replaced as well. I'm not sure if this is a safety issue but it seems excessive so I thought I would report it.”

NHTSA complaint #10726692, filed 2015-06, 110,000 miles

“In a routine virginia state safety inspection a Honda dealer failed my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey van (50902 miles) for two broken motor mounts (front and passenger side) and a burned out brake light. I did not and do not believe that such a new, low mileage vehicle should have developed broken motor mounts, especially since my wife drove the van gently since it was new. …”

NHTSA complaint #10534501, filed 2013-08, 50,902 miles

“I was driving around 20mph when I smelled smoke I pulled over. There was smoke coming out of the car around the right front tire. Within minutes my engine was on fire. My car is completely totaled. My family is safe but would love to know why this has happened and don't want it to happen to anyone else. If there is another website or agency that I should report this to, please let me know. It was very scary.”

NHTSA complaint #10730300, filed 2015-06, 100,000 miles

“Dealer is claiming that I need 2 new engine mounts to pass the next state inspection, quoting me 2300 dollars to replace. I have over 800k miles on several cars, never had a problem with engine mounts. I never heard of these mounts failing either.”
