“One of the engine main bearings failed at a little over 27k miles. There was a knocking noise on the lower part of the engine. The engine could have possibly failed leaving me stranded. Yes the dealer was able to replicate the noise and replace the main bearing. No it hasn’t been inspected since I’ve had it. There were no warning signs other than the knocking noise and loud idling.”

NHTSA complaint #11773915, filed 2026-10

“It was the same thing as my last three reports. The vehicle stalls in a way that freezes the vehicle where I cannot turn it off or on or engage or remove the parking brake. I cannot put it in gear or in neutral. Last time it stalled me in the middle of a seven lane highway. This time it was in the middle of a hospital entrance. I feel like I am gambling with my life and the dealership won’t listen to me! How many times does this have to happen??”

NHTSA complaint #11683869, filed 2025-08

“Engine turns off by itself at stop. Auto idle stop was not turned on. It also happened when i pressed the reverse button. When it turns off by itself, i have to turn it back on and put it back into gear. It happened 4 times today”

NHTSA complaint #11706218, filed 2025-12

“My car’s power system is totally off twice suddenly ( around 4:00pm & 8:30pm) when I completely stop at the traffic light. Cannot re-start the car, cannot open the rear doors, cannot turn on the emergency light to warn other cars. After waiting for a a few minutes, the power is back, I can start my car again When my car totally loss power at 8:30pm and cannot turn on the emergency light at night, and cannot open the rear doors for kids getting out the car. It is very dangerous to the passengers.”

NHTSA complaint #11721224, filed 2026-03

“Intermittently, my 2022 Honda Odyssey with less than 16,000 miles will “stall” after the idle stop/start system is enacted. The first time it happened, I was waiting to turn left out of a parking lot onto a busy road. The idle stop kicked in, and when I went to go, my car lurched about 5 feet and the engine cut out completely requiring me to turn off the car with the push button start, restart the car, and put the car into drive. Luckily, people going both directions on the crossroad were able to go around me. …”
