“Was watching news on other Honda models and the emergency break system going off erroneously. This has happened with my car as well. It doesnt appear breaks will engage but the light will flash indicating to break even though there are no cars or objects in front of me. I have not had it inspected and waiting for first oil change to do so.”
NHTSA complaint #11453980, filed 2022-02“Adaptive cruise control unexpectedly disengages. This has happened dozens of times, consistently every time I use the adaptive cruise control on the highway. My speed drops from the set speed (for example, 75 mph) down to 55 or 60 mph, at which point I realize it’s not going to come back on. This is extremely dangerous on the highway, and puts me at risk of being rear-ended by vehicles traveling at high speed.”
NHTSA complaint #11670425, filed 2025-07“On a number of occasions the automatic braking system has engaged when no vehicles or objects were present in the vicinity of the vehicle. This is incredibly dangerous. When I get in the car now I have to remember to disengage that feature before operating the vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11605870, filed 2024-08“Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2022 Honda Odyssey Date of Incident: 5-1-25 Mileage at Incident: 30,000 Summary of Incident: While my 2022 Honda Odyssey was fully stopped in traffic with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward and struck the car in front of me. Just before or during the lurch, the brake system warning light appeared on the dashboard. I did not have my foot on the accelerator at any time. The road was flat and weather conditions were normal. …”
NHTSA complaint #11658326, filed 2025-05“I was driving forward in the left lane, no cars in front of me. A garbage truck parked in the middle yellow lane to my left, a moving city bus on my right lane, but they were a bit further back, not driving next to me. There was a cae behind me. Was going at 25mph, then suddenly the automatic brake stopped my car. I didn’t understand why. It happened for a good 3 seconds. Then I was able to continue forward. So scary!!! No one close to my left or right or in front of me. The car behind me almost hit me because of the automatic brake.”
