“After a heavy rain, the rear tailgate stopped working- apparently the roof seals have cracked and water leaked into the rear part of the car, and destroyed the tailgate latch and control unit. When I was driving the car for service, the rear sensor kept beeping indicating that the tailgate was not latched properly- I was afraid it would open it, so I had to drive carefully to the dealer. …”

“The fuel door will not open. It appears the fuel door actuator has failed. This can result in being stranded as not able to fuel. Dealer has confirmed and is charging me to fix. Vehicle only has about 33,000 miles on it and is 44 months in service. There were no warning lights, but interesting enough the driver side sliding door does make a grumbling noise like it needs to be oiled. I am having the dealer review this as well.”

NHTSA complaint #11644277, filed 2025-02

“It was the same thing as my last three reports. The vehicle stalls in a way that freezes the vehicle where I cannot turn it off or on or engage or remove the parking brake. I cannot put it in gear or in neutral. Last time it stalled me in the middle of a seven lane highway. This time it was in the middle of a hospital entrance. I feel like I am gambling with my life and the dealership won’t listen to me! How many times does this have to happen??”

NHTSA complaint #11683869, filed 2025-08

“My power sunroof busted randomly while driving. Thank goodness I had it closed underneath me or else the glass would have fallen on me. It was sudden & I was not under a bridge or anything else to make me believe a rock or debris hit it. Additionally could not find a trace of a rock or anything afterwards. Not only did this pose a threat to me, but the glass flew behind me & caused an issue for the cars behind me.”

NHTSA complaint #11492774, filed 2022-11

“There’s been several incidences but the most recent one was today. While idling, my car fills up with a gas/exhaust smell. It happens intermittently but it has happened 4 times in the last week. If I shut the recirculate mode off, the smell will start to go away till I turn the recirculate back on. After further investigation, there’s several people with this issue as Honda odyssey owners. Problem has been reproduced several times on my own, however I will be taking to a dealership next week.”
